On August 21, 2025, Hermès is pleased to announce the opening of her newly expanded and relocated store inside the Galleria department stores in the famous Rodeo area of Ganglagnam of Seoul in the Rodeo district of Gangenam. From now on, located in the West Hall, the brilliant and harmonious space offers a new radiant scenario for the sixteen average of the house, celebrating crafts while reaffirming Hermès's local commitment.
The new store is wrapped in a sprayed trompe of anodized metal inspired by the vivid Dancheong decorative tradition of the country and its contemporary aesthetics. The dynamic facade flows as a rhythmic audio file, which attracts visitors to an animated environment influenced by the vibrant and high energy, the world of local pop, using playful pastels, bold neon and surprising contrasts.
Hermès has reopened her extended store in the Rodeo Apgujeong in Seoul, Ganggnam, on August 21, 2025. Designed by RDAI, the space celebrates 16 Métiers with a vibrant decoration inspired by the tradition and pop culture of Korea. With local crafts, art and the theme of 2025 “Drawned to Craft”, combines heritage with modernity, the exhibition of leather articles, fashion, home and equestrian collections.
As the guests enter the colorful store, they discover fashion jewelry and fragrances, since they are welcome by the emblematic ex-libris of the house, placed in the Faubourg pattern of exclusive terrace. A large space opens, like a ship, with the silk universe in the center. On the right, the shoes of men and the ready to use are placed against a scratched wall of contrasting tones and carpets of concentric circles. The domestic and equestrian collections are behind silk, linked by large -sized wijarros forms in terrace cake under the feet. Animated passages lead to the rear of the store, an immersive space illuminated by the emblematic Grecques lights, with bright green walls and ombre carpet. Here, the intimate areas develop, offering collections of leather items on one side and jewelry and opposite watches. Combined with the private living room, the space dazzles with elegant wooden metal walls. On the right, similar guijarro carpets support the lists for use and women's shoes, where the blue -blue terrazo and bright silk partitions create a relaxing space for collections.
Created by the Parisian Architecture Agency RDAI, the store represents a playful dialogue between heritage and modernity. Based on the recurring patterns of Dancheong's art, the vibrant decoration is a celebration of the ancient art of South Korea and the vibrant new generations. Local handicraft pieces as they include silk walls and pleissed paper lighting of Jungmo Kwon improve this symphonic narrative.
Sketches, illustrations and paintings of the Émile Hermès collection and the Hermès collection of contemporary photographs score space. It feels an urban inspiration along the shaded landscapes represented in works of the French artist/Senegalés Mamadou Cissé, and the Animapolis Carré, drawn by the Polish artist Jan Bajtlik, who portrays a scene of vibrant animals that walk through a city.
The annual theme of 2025, “Drawned to Craft”, goes beyond the lines and surfaces. The special window exhibits the Korean artist, Miju Lee, captures the quality of the drawing exploring creation through time, sensation and memory. As the store is relocated, the two scenes of the window also take the viewer to a poetic narrative that transforms the details of daily life into evocative reflections on collective imagination.
