The Double Club Prada brings back the days of the merry-go-round in Los Angeles

The Double Club was oOriginally created in London in 2008 by Fondazione Prada and artist Carsten Höller around a new public space dedicated to Congolese culture and Western cultures. It was made up of three spaces; a bar; a restaurant and nightclub, designed to represent the most challenging elements of both cultures, including music, food and visual aesthetics.

After its second work, The Prada Double Club Miami, located in a 1920s film studio complex, the Italian luxury house is organizing its third edition in the Arts District of Los Angeles. The new event is created in collaboration with Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasyan exhibition opened last December by DreamCrew, Drake's media company, and its founding private partners.

Until May, Luna Luna is reviving the amusement park with rides, games and attractions that were originally created in Hamburg in the late 1980s by artists Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and David Hockney and have since been completely renovated .

Held over 4 days, The Double Club Los Angeles invited the press and friends of the brand on Thursday and Friday to discover an exclusive exhibition in collaboration with the artist Carsten Höller. In a huge warehouse immersed in darkness, a central stage planted with thousands of yellow and pink light bulbs would host the DJs invited to the party organized by the brand.

Around the stage, guests were able to enjoy three original merry-go-rounds from 1987, illuminated by Carsten Höller, including an antique carousel with horses, rabbits and elephants, a roller coaster and rotating swings. There were no frenetic crowds for the opening, but a minute on each merry-go-round allowed for a return to childhood, some cappuccinos and cocktails for a quick wake-up call, and a private invitation to see or revisit the neighboring city. moon Moon exhibition.
