Swedish brand H&M unveils its line of children's clothing with Keith Haring's Mickey Mouse logo

H&M reimagines Keith Haring’s inventive art with its latest childrenswear collection. Inspired by Disney’s depictions of Mickey Mouse, the collection – which includes clothing, shoes and accessories – features collages and all-over prints in the familiar shades of red, white and black, as well as a light denim blue. Oversized cuts and boxy silhouettes create a streetwear vibe, with pieces including a baseball jacket, T-shirts, denim jackets and dungarees. For kids up to 14 years old, the collection will be available in-store and online at hm.com from 4 July.

“Keith Haring’s interpretation of Disney’s Mickey Mouse is quite playful and we wanted to reflect that in the vibrant prints. It’s a modern homage to both the artist and the animated character, as well as fashion and art, and I’m very proud of what we’ve created by combining these two icons,” he says. Sofia Löfstedt, creative and design director for children's fashion at H&M.

Liz Shortreed, SVP Global Category, Disney, Pixar and Softlines shares: “Our latest collection with H&M is fun and lively, inviting younger generations to connect with some of Disney’s most beloved characters in new and stylish ways. Like Keith Haring and H&M, we celebrate creativity and artistic expression, working closely with global fashion partners to reimagine our stories for new audiences.”

H&M launches a childrenswear collection inspired by the art of Keith Haring and Disney’s Mickey Mouse, featuring vibrant prints in red, black and denim blue. The collection, which includes oversized pieces and streetwear styles, is available from July 4 in stores and online. It celebrates creativity and artistic expression, connecting younger generations with iconic characters.

Keith Haring's passion for the world-loved character began when he was a child. His father, an amateur cartoonist, encouraged him to draw and he even dreamed of becoming a cartoonist like his idol Walt Disney. After moving to New York in 1978, Haring quickly became part of the art scene with his Mickey Mouse drawings appearing on subway walls, streets and clubs.

“Keith loved connecting with younger generations through his work and considered Walt Disney to be one of his creative inspirations. He celebrated Disney’s Mickey Mouse as a cultural icon and his interpretations have long been relegated to the art world. H&M has beautifully reimagined Haring’s work and fused the two legends together, offering a children’s clothing collection that helps spark inspiration and creativity,” he said. David Stark, Founder and CEO of Artestarthe global brand licensing and consulting agency representing Keith Haring Studio.
