Swedish brand COS presents a nature-inspired collection at Brooklyn Navy Yard

The event took place in a sprawling warehouse at the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard, with several guests arriving by boat, setting the stage for a unique experience. Inside, a striking labyrinth transformed the industrial space, guiding models through sculptural walls as they showcased 43 distinctive styles, capturing the essence of COS’s design philosophy.

This season, the influence of nature is evident in the collection’s tactile surfaces, construction and colour palette. Earthy tones predominate, enhanced by rich textures and weaves, with vibrant green accents adding fresh contrast. Heritage fabrics and traditional designs are reimagined through modernist cuts, hardware embellishments and innovative layering techniques.

COS’s show at Brooklyn Navy Yard featured 43 nature-inspired looks, featuring earthy tones, rich textures and modern layering. Womenswear featured fluid tailoring and relaxed silhouettes, while menswear reinvented classics with soft, oversized cuts. COS ATELIER’s debut was inspired by ballet, mixing sculptural and fluid designs. Select pieces are already available in-store and online.

The core womenswear collection embodies contemporary femininity, brought to life through modern tailoring. Trouser suits with softened structures and fluid, oversized silhouettes define the look. Elegantly refined separates and maxi dresses are presented alongside relaxed wool sets, canvas coats, smooth leather and shearling jackets. Looks are paired with leather loafers, stilettos or ballerina flats, complemented by quilted clutch bags. Men’s wear focuses on reinventing classic wardrobe staples. Formal tailoring is relaxed for day-to-night dressing with flared leg trousers that are cut to fit loosely on the body, worn with draped silk shirts for a softer aesthetic. Fluid trousers are paired with oversized leather-detailed jackets, while tonal looks pair suits with tactile cashmere layers.

The show also marked the debut of the COS ATELIER Fall Winter 2024 collection, which draws inspiration from the elegance of ballet and fluidity of movement, exploring sculptural elements in every silhouette. Rooted in tailoring, the collection features softened shapes, layering and draping that allow the clothes to take on a life of their own and create unique forms. Transparency and soft, shiny surfaces are juxtaposed with rich, textured outerwear, signifying a sophisticated and tactile collection.

A selection of items from the show collection is now available in COS stores and on cos.com, and limited quantities will continue to be released throughout the season. COS ATELIER will be available from October.
