Stella McCartney: It's time to fuck

Fashion's eco-conscious traditionalist Stella McCartney presented her latest show inside a beautiful glass house on Monday morning, opening with a passionate plea to save Mother Earth in a show to be known as It's About F. …ing Time.

With her father Paul and fellow Beatle Ringo Starr sitting front row alongside singer MIA, actress Charlotte Rampling and local hottie Tina Kunakey, Stella opened the show with a video. Images of nature, the beauty of the mountains, frolicking whales and fish teaming up, interspersed with a single female figure representing Mother Earth saying things like: “Birds, waves, you all came from me, in harmony. So why are you hurting me? We are always connected and, despite their attempts at emancipation, they cannot cut the umbilical cord that runs through the entire planet. I am the only mother for whom it is natural that her children survive. You still love me. I need you to show it. It's time to fuck.”

Before the show, Stella had sent a similar message: “It's time for you to come to my show. She even put that phrase on a white T-shirt from a collection whose best moments were the excellent tailoring. Stella may not have the design skills of Elsa, Coco or Miuccia, but her English roots have led her to become an excellent tailor. Ask any major department store retailer and they will all be happy to tell you what a loyal following Stella suits have.

Presented inside the high modernist greenhouse of the Parc André Citroën, a garden that has recently arrived in Paris, since it opened its doors in 1992. And a good backdrop for suits that were very elegant, cut with fluid pants and with a lot of plausible volume.

The designer's other best ideas were for cocktail hour, with sequin-studded beige and white lycra cocktail dresses and crystal-embroidered dresses. Before closing the action with a giant rope-style Yettie coat worn by Natalia Vodianova. Her husband, Antoine Arnault, was sitting in the front row. By the way, her father Bernard Arnault controls LVMH and the house of Stella McCartney.

As we said, Stella always had a political sense.
