SOSHI OTSUKI OF JAPAN WIN THE LVMH 2025 Award

And the winner is from Japan: Soshi Otsuki, a new exciting talent in male clothes, received the LVMH award for 2025 on Wednesday at a full ceremony at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.

One of the richest individual awards in fashion, with the first prize obtaining € 300,000, the LVMH award held its 12th year this season.

“Thanks to the jury, Delphine Arnault, LVMH and all … I'm very honored,” a shy Osuki murmured in the microphone in the main position.

In a preprimed video, Otsuki explained: “Lanzé Soshiotsuki in 2015, combining the Japanese tradition with modern crafts. Interpreting the DNA of Japanese heritage from a unique perspective. Combining precision, with emotion, elaborate modern silhouettes.”

The jury, mainly composed of LVMH designers, such as Phoebe Philo, Pharrell Williams, Sarah Burton, Jonathan Anderson, Nicolas Ghesquière and Silvia Fendi, and including executives such as Sidney Toledano and the origin of the award, CEO Dior Delphine Arnault, also chose two other winners.

The jury presented the Karl Lagerfeld Award to Steve or Smith, a talent born in the United Kingdom highlighted by its bright sketches of paper ink that transports to willow dresses, graphics and romantics: win Smith a check for € 150,000 for the deputy prize of Karl Lagerfeld.

Meanwhile, the third prize, the Savoir-Faire Award, went to another British creator, Torishéju Dumi, who presented collections of women and men defined by a dynamic and avant-garde greatness. The Savoir-Faire prize was created to recognize excellence in crafts, technical innovation and sustainable approach to the selected brands.

The previous finalists of the LVMH award have included Jacquemus, Demon and Rachel Scott, the New York Diotima brand designer, who was appointed creative director of Proenza Schouler yesterday.

The winner was selected from eight chosen finalists from a group of 20 semifinalists who participated in the LVM Young Fashion Creators award, presenting their ideas on March 5 and 6 in Paris. A first jury of around 80 experts, including editors, stylists, models and film stars, reduced 20 to eight.

The other five finalists were the French designer Alain Paul, who showed collections of women, men and unisex in inventive sculptural forms; All-in, for the duo of Benjamin Barron of the United States and cror August Victbø in Norway, who presented collections of women and unisex with a fabulous Frou dress accessorized with collars of Giant pearls;

Danial Zomer Aitouganov, a Dutch talent whose women's shows in Paris have been very acclaimed for several seasons; From Italy came Francesco Murano, a highly skilled Draper; and Tolu Coker, based in London, with a mixture of iconography and African impressions along with brain and tailoring cuts.
