“We would like to clarify that this company is not affiliated or related to Ralph Lauren in any way and that these disputes do not involve Ralph Lauren,” the company said in a statement.

PT Manggala Putra Perkasa has also established a subsidiary called “PT Polo Ralph Lauren Indonesia”.

Currently, Ralph Lauren does not directly operate any stores in Indonesia nor has it authorized any partners or distributors to operate “Polo Ralph Lauren” branded stores or other “Ralph Lauren” brands in the country. To meet the demands of its Indonesian customers, Ralph Lauren products are available exclusively through certain third-party retailers.

Ralph Lauren said it is committed to taking all necessary steps to protect its copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property rights.

“We recognize that these brands and names are a source of confusion. Ralph Lauren is committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure that its copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property rights are not violated as part of its efforts to provide authentic products and experiences to consumers in the region,” the company added.
