Prada Group announced on Monday that it has joined the Sustainable Markets Initiative Fashion Working Group, chaired by tech entrepreneur and sustainable fashion pioneer Federico Marchetti.
The Fashion Task Force, established in 2021, is dedicated to spearheading action-oriented initiatives aimed at accelerating the transition to a more sustainable future for fashion. As a member, Prada Group will play a role in driving change and accelerating progress in existing areas of focus.
“We are honored to be part of this coalition and contribute by sharing our experience in the field of traceability. “Taking advantage of everyone's valuable experience and trying to achieve common sustainability goals is a productive way to confront today's complexity and constantly improve,” said Lorenzo Bertelli, director of corporate social responsibility at the Prada Group.
Over the years, the Working Group has undertaken several projects, including the launch of the Digital Product Passport at the G20 summit in Rome and initiatives focused on regenerative agriculture in regions such as the Himalayas and Apulia, Italy.
Marchetti added: “We are delighted to welcome the Prada Group and Lorenzo Bertelli to our action-oriented Fashion Task Force. “Lorenzo and I share the same passion for innovation and customer focus, and Prada fits perfectly into a cohesive group of leading brands striving for a shared purpose: fashion in harmony with nature.”
As part of the Fashion Task Force, Prada Group joins leaders from high fashion brands, platforms and retailers including Aura Blockchain Consortium, Brunello Cucinelli, Burberry, Chloé, Gabriela Hearst, Giorgio Armani, Puig, Moda Operandi and Zalando.
