Philipp Plein Pre-Fall 2024

Philipp Plein offered a remote tour to present his brand's latest collection, joining a video call directly from his car as he left Spain after a fruitful business trip.

Landing in Spain allowed him to check out his handful of stores across the country, with the one in Madrid providing particularly encouraging statistics, as sales of his women's clothing line surpassed those of men's. “This shows us that the direction we are going is the right one,” he said enthusiastically, pointing out his company's efforts to strengthen the former in recent seasons.

The pre-fall 2024 collection built on that commitment to a credible proposition for women and reiterated the brand's new approach of adopting more unified codes and similar themes across genders compared to the past.

The result was a day-to-night wardrobe that could translate that bold, chic and ostentatious attitude embedded in their brand's DNA into more wearable designs. Cue tiger-head motifs that appear on everyday crewneck fabrics; little black suits embellished with heart-shaped crystal details; puffers given a shiny treatment and denim pieces enhanced with sizzling crystal waterfalls. Black cargo pants and a simple leather trench coat joined the more everyday trend and at the same time exuded that sense of ferocity with which the Plein woman is most associated.

However, Plein still had her loyal night owls covered in her signature dresses with high slits and risqué cutouts. Only this time he added black options to counteract the effect or opted for a muted palette by splashing a python print on the dresses.

Recalling the origins of her fashion career, Plein also revisited a tattoo theme that marked one of her first collections in the early 2000s, and which is now offered in different versions, ranging from simple prints to embroidered patterns. . A tattoo-style minidress covered in crystals but still cut in an essential, long-sleeved silhouette best balanced Plein's past with her current approach.
