Off-White, Ronald van der Kemp and Toteme will make their American runway debuts according to the newly released official NYFW show schedule, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the industry's governing body, announced Monday.
The CFDA on Monday released the “preliminary” New York Fashion Week (NYFW) schedule for the spring/summer 2025 runway season, with a total of 61 shows listed across the six-day season.
“The CFDA is thrilled to welcome international guests Off-White, Ronald van der Kemp and Toteme to the official NYFW calendar, who will be celebrating their first collection presentations in New York City. First-time additions to the official NYFW calendar include Advisry, Campillo, Michael Fausto, Salon 1884 and TWP,” the CFDA said in a statement.
Area will formally kick off the American collections on Friday, September 6, a day that will close with New York's most fashionable designer, Willy Chavarría. While the CFDA 2023/2024 will be held in New York City,Fashion Fashion Fund winner Melitta Baumeister will close the week on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The event-packed week will also include star names such as Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera, Coach, Khaite, LaQuan Smith, Michael Kors, Phillip Lim, Tory Burch, Ulla Johnson and Tory Burch.
An afternoon slot has been announced for Tommy Hilfiger on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Ralph Lauren and Proenza Schouler “will present their collections in the run-up to the season,” the CFDA said.
In addition, there will be 10 mini-show presentations by menswear designers on the opening day, as well as around 15 presentations by appointment by designers as diverse as Hervé, Veronia Beard and Delpozo. Other collections will be presented digitally.
The season also marks the return of Cos, Cynthia Rowley, Simkhai and Who Decides War to the New York catwalks.
This season marks the 20th anniversary of the CFDA/Fashion Fashion Fund and current 5000 finalist brands Grace Ling, Kate Barton, Jane Wade, Presley Oldham, Sebastien Ami and Wiederhoeft will be presenting their new collections during the week.
Since acquiring Fashion Calendar in October 2014, the CFDA has been the sole organizer of the official NYFW calendar. Originally founded in 1945 by publisher Ruth Finley, the Fashion Calendar, now in digital format, serves as the premier year-round event planning and scheduling tool for fashion designers, press, retailers, PR firms and the industry at large.
