After expanding its offer with leather last year, Nona Source, specialist in dead materials, will hold its annual “Grande Braderie” from December 2 to 6, which, for the first time, will be open to the general public in France.
With 5,000 references in fabrics and textiles, and 500 in leathers and furs, Nona Source allows emerging brands and designers to obtain materials from the idle inventories of major fashion houses. To contribute to the evolution of this inventory, the company, incubated in the LVMH group, has been organizing “Grandes Braderies” since 2021, offering additional discounts to fans.
This year a further step is taken with the opening of the event to the general public. This approach in particular allows Nona Source to find buyers for materials that are sometimes very old and lack the details of origin and composition that are now available and required by big brands, co-founder Anne Prieur du Perray tells FashionNetwork.com.
The “Grande Braderie”, which attracts more than 3,000 visitors each year, will not be held this time at the Nona Source premises in La Caserne (Paris, 10th arrondissement), but under the glass of the Quartier Général (Paris, 11th arrondissement). Another novelty will be a space created in collaboration with Shindo, a specialist in ribbons and accessories (buttons, zippers, etc.).
Above all, this edition will feature a competition for students, who will use materials collected by Nona Source in the Maisons of the LVMH group. The jury will be chaired by designer Jeanne Friot, winner of the Grand Prize for the Creation of the City of Paris 2025 in the “Fashion Engagement” category.
