The Patent and Market Court declared that the headquarters based in Ireland of Shein, Infinite Styles Ecommerce, had, without permission, copies of Nelly and had made them available to the public on the Swedish website of Shein.

“Infinite Styles electronic commerce has been guilty of violating Nelly's exclusive rights about the photographs,” the court said in his ruling.

Nelly, owner of the Nelly.com electronic commerce platform and also operates its own clothing brand, filed the demand for violation of copyright in September 2024.

The company said that Shein, which was founded in China and now has its headquarters in Singapore, had used photos of its website for marketing purposes without authorization.
