Natasha Zinko Pre-Fall 2024 – World Water Day

“I’m still camping, but it’s the winter version,” said Natasha Zinko, who set up her tent and prepared for a cold night under the stars. She certainly came prepared, packing shearlings, long johns and padded boots, putting a wintery touch on her pre-fall 2024 outdoor collection.

The collection couldn’t have come at a better time. Winter has finally started to take effect in England, with snow, strong winds and freezing temperatures, and Zinko is no stranger to the cold. She’s Ukrainian and knows better than most designers how to stay warm.

Zinko used shearling in everything from huge, round-shouldered “muscle” jackets to high boots with motorcycle-style padding and thick pockets, and flared shoulder bags made in the shape of Y-front briefs.

Underwear took center stage, with those same Y-fronts cut and molded into bondage-style dresses, tops, and bodysuits held in place by thick elastic waistbands. Other briefs were transformed into long leggings or tight pants, all with tab embellishments and zippers.

While this collection had weight (see the thick muscle-padded denim jackets and shearling tufts), it also embraced clear winter skies, dotted with stars.

A glamorous sheer dress was covered in highlighted sparkles in the shapes of muscles and bones, while hoodies and sweatpants featured glowing X-ray shapes.

This collection got a special sneak peek last month when Doja Cat rocked some of the sparkly looks on stage during her North American tour, flexing her artistic Zinko muscles and staying warm.
