“The Max Mara Resort 2027 show will take place in Shanghai, China, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026,” the Italian luxury fashion house confirmed in a statement.

The decision marks the latest exotic destination for the house, which last year held its show resort at the Royal Palace of Caserta, Italy's Versailles, located near Naples.

Before the show, the 300 guests sipped prosecco, while stars including Sharon Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joey King and Alexa Chung admired the magnificent series of mile-long waterfalls, interspersed with five monumental fountains, designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli.

UK-born Max Mara designer Ian Griffiths created a beautiful collection he called “pragmatic feminism,” which was based on Italian cinema icons like Sophia Loren and Silvana Mangano.

That event followed Max Mara's resort 2025 show at Venice's Palazzo Ducale, another Italian masterpiece rich in history. The exact location of the upcoming Shanghai fair is not yet known.

Previous Max Mara Resort collections have also been presented in Stockholm, Berlin and Lisbon.

The Max Mara resort traditionally showcases a series of important collections from important European brands every spring. Next year, Louis Vuitton and Dior will present their cruise shows in the United States, in New York and Los Angeles, respectively.
