As we eagerly await the opening of the Maison des Métiers d'Excellence in 2025, the time has come for Métiers d'Art to reclaim its prestigious spotlight in Paris. The LVMH division, which brings together the luxury giant's suppliers specialized in extraordinary raw materials, will also soon open its own establishment. This establishment will house its headquarters, crafts and showrooms.
According to our sources, this space is located at number 69 Rue Réaumur, in the second arrondissement of Paris, where renovations are being carried out. The chosen place is a Haussmannian building dating from 1898, adorned with important masonry and crowned by a large glass roof with a metal structure. It is distributed over four levels and covers more than 500 square meters.
This facility will serve as the division's office and showcase for all the companies it represents, with showrooms. The concept is to welcome not only customers but also the general public. This new and prestigious address has been conceived as an open bridge to the city and the community, with the aim of fostering exchanges and commercial relationships, emphasizing the creativity that shines through the different categories and countries of the Métiers d'Art within the group, by bringing together the entire production process in one place.
In this sense, LVMH Métiers d'Art, which has also adopted its own logo, has just launched its new website, metiersdart.lvmh.com, easily accessible to the general public and presenting its different sectors of activity.
Focused on leather, exotic skins, metal and textiles, this division, chaired by Jean-Baptiste Voisin, chief strategy officer of the LVMH group, and directed by Matteo De Rosa, was created by LVMH in 2015 to create a “body from experience”. unique in the world” and also create an ecosystem around exceptional crafts and materials. It brings together about 15 specialized suppliers, who have a turnover of more than 700 million euros.
In the leather sector, it has invested in breeding through its partner Domaine des Massifs, as well as in tanning and finishing with the French tanneries Roux, the Italian Nuti and Masoni, and the Spanish Riba Guixà. With Robans he even extends himself to leather ready-to-wear. In the exotic skins sector, it can rely on the Heng Long tannery, based in Singapore and Italy, as well as the Spanish Verdeveleno, in which it owns a majority stake.
In addition, it fully controls the Italian manufacturer Renato Menegatti, a reference in the machining of metal parts for leather goods and fashion houses, now known as M.ON.DE Metal-on-Demand. In the metal sector, LVMH Métiers d'Art is also involved in the production of metal pieces through GBJM, an exceptional Taiwanese metal innovation center, and through the French metal jewelry and accessories manufacturer, Jade Groupe, equipped with workshops in France and Portugal. who joined the group in 2021.
Finally, the entity has established two partnerships with Japanese companies, first with the denim specialist Kuroki and more recently with Hosoo, the historic manufacturer of silk fabrics for kimonos.
In October last year, LVMH announced the creation of a Maison des Métiers d'Excellence aimed at preserving and passing on craftsmanship. Located in a historic building on Bayard Street, not far from the luxury leader's headquarters in the 8th arrondissement, the venue is expected to open in 2025.
