Luisa Beccaria Fall 2024 Ready to Wear Catwalk, Fashion Show and Collection Review

Romance is always in the air at Luisa Beccaria, whose love for chiffon, lace and velvet knows no limits. That romance took on a Victorian (and '70s) flavor with flowy chiffon dresses in microfloral prints and velvet incorporated into everything from jumpsuits to dresses in a palette of jewel tones and powdery pastels.

The backdrop reflected the mood of the show, with clusters of pale pink roses, purple lilacs, and anemones in jugs and glass jars scattered around the space, vines hanging between linen rails, and waiters serving green juices.

The venue was the new Officine LùBar, part of a rapidly expanding family-owned franchise that already includes two restaurants. Officine LùBar, which features a large rooftop garden, is more of an event space and also serves as the business's new headquarters.

Beccaria's hippie models wandered through the space in their sheer, floral chiffon dresses in eau de nil, cranberry and dusty rose, weaving among the floral arrangements and mingling with guests.

They wore lilac corduroy pants, matching sweaters and wide-brimmed hats that evoked Carly Simon on the cover of her 1972 album, “No Secrets.” Some wore long double-breasted coats in pastel shades and 1940s-style open sandals or suede boots.

Others wore lace blouses, gold brocade coats and velvet devoré dresses, adding a Victorian touch and rich retro sheen to this wild garden collection.
