The new Civitanova factory has an area of 10,000 square meters. The factory started production on March 12 and employs 90 people, including 70 artisans, while the rest of the staff are also engaged in manufacturing. The goal is to grow the workforce in the coming years.
“[Louis Vuitton] It will also initiate a vocational training program that will allow young people to discover and develop the skills necessary for the art of footwear, with the aim of preserving and promoting the exceptional know-how of the region,” the brand states in a statement.
The Marche region of central Italy is home to other LVMH-owned shoe factories, including Fendi in Molini Girola and Loro Piana in Porto San Giorgio.
