Liva and Aarti Vijay Gupta redefine sustainable luxury in lfw fw'25

The renowned designer Aarti Vijay Gupta once again pushed the limits of sustainable fashion at London Fashion Week, presenting her latest collection, Kalighat Stories, for FW25 in collaboration with sustainable fabrics of Liva. Earrusted in heritage but executed with a contemporary touch, the collection honored the artistic traditions of India through the modern lens of Gupta while covering innovation both in design and fabric.

Made with Liva Reviva fabrics, made of up to 30% of recycled textile waste mixed with FSC certified wood pulp, the collection defended ecological luxury without compromising fluidity or versatility. The light and breathable nature of the fabric allowed Gupta to give life to the intricate art, inspired by the rich cultural heritage of India, all while reinforcing the importance of responsible fashion.

Aarti Vijay Gupta exhibited Kalighat stories in London Fashion Week FW25, combining Indian heritage with sustainability using Liva Reviva Fabrics. Inspired by the art of Kalighat and Patua, the collection had 35 appearance of male clothes and women's clothing with intricate impressions and fluid curtains. When associated with Liva, Gupta highlighted the ecological luxury, merging tradition with innovation.

For Kalighat's stories, Gupta worked closely with artisans from the famous traditions of Kalighat and Patua de Kolkata, transforming the narration of ancient narratives into modern fashion. The recognized paintings of Midnapore's parchment were integrated together with “Patua Feet”, a vivid artistic representation of music, mythology and daily life. The designs merged tradition with contemporary aesthetics, which shows a perfect combination of history and modernity.

The track had 35 different looks in men's clothes and women's clothes, presenting a wide range of styles. The fluid curtains and structured layers highlighted the versatility of sustainable fabrics of liva, while earthly tones and cakes off formed the base for intricate impressions with artisanal details that add depth to each piece.
