Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI to start on March 13 in Mumbai

House of Lakme, Fashion Design Council of India and Reliance Brands (RBL) have announced the schedule and dates for the upcoming season of Lakme Fashion Week, which will take place from March 13 to 17 at the Jio World Convention Center. The platform is set to redefine the essence of Indian fashion and interweave narratives of fashion, beauty, modernity and individual expression. Having shaped India's female beauty landscape, since its inception in 1952, House of Lakme continues to be a voice for stars on and off the runway, pioneering beauty and fashion as markers of self-expression. With this season of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, as always, House of Lakme will present innovation through an immersive experience.

Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, scheduled from March 13 at the Jio World Convention Center, promises to redefine Indian fashion with narratives of beauty, modernity and self-expression. The event will feature GenNext shows, trend magazines and exhibitions by leading designers. FDCI will highlight 'Made in India' handlooms and has collaborated with Pearl Academy.

Day 1 will open with INIFD's GenNext show, followed by the premiere of an LFW issue of Fashion x Beauty Trend magazine. This trend magazine brought to you by Lakme will showcase the 2024/25 global trends in fashion, beauty, design and lifestyle. Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI will culminate with the House of Lakme Grand Finale on March 17, which will see the showcase of an award-winning couturier's new collection.

With over 400 members, the FDCI was established with the primary objective of spreading the word about the fashion industry, based on supporting, encouraging and showcasing the best fashion and creative talent in the country. As handlooms take center stage in a nation whose history is steeped in the flavors of indigenous crafts, FDCI remains true to its promise of promoting the 'Made in India' badge. The FDCI warehouse will also help attendees gain direct access to the collections from the ramp and interact with designers on the ground. This season, FDCI will host three exhibitions, one is FDCI presents 'Measure' with an international designer, the other is GQ X FDCI Men's Edit with designers Countrymade, Jaywalking and Rishta by Arjun Saluja. Additionally, FDCI will collaborate with Pearl Academy for 'First Cut'.

Reliance Brands, which operates Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, is a prominent player in India's fashion and luxury industries. The organization places a lot of emphasis on nurturing the country's young designers and fashion talents, as well as creating sustainable narratives through initiatives such as INIFD presents GenNext and R|Elan presents the Circular Design Challenge. The Circular Design Challenge, which was first launched in India in collaboration with R|Elan and the UN, has now expanded globally, and winner Anish Malpani of 'Without' will showcase his talent to the world this season. Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI has always been one of the most awaited and celebrated fashion shows in the country. All performances will continue to be streamed live across the platform's OTT partners JioCinema and JioTV, while Lakme's performances and initiatives will also be streamed on Lakme's social media channels. The event is also streamed live on LFW and FDCI social media channels to reach out to the wide Indian and global fashion audience, House of Lakme said in a press release.
