La Martina, Argentina's leading clothing brand, debuted with one of India's leading designers, Rajesh Pratap Singh, to showcase a capsule collection that signifies the seamless integration of fashion and sport, paying homage to timeless tradition and prestige of polo in India, at the current Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW).

La Martina recently launched its luxurious polo collection for Spring/Summer 2024 with a variety of styles that have made it to the “must have” list for everyday sports and fashion enthusiasts. Rajesh Pratap Singh's collaboration with La Martina perfectly integrated the designer's sensibility with that of the brand. Paying homage to the deep connection between Jaipur and polo, Rajesh's looks celebrated the Pink City's culture and association with the royal sport. The creations were a tribute to the players, while also being inspired by the nostalgia of the game and the stars of polo in India. The high-octane display simultaneously honored La Martina's hallmark with sport, the company said in a press release.

The fabrics were a mix of tailored woven jacquard and silk twill along with some striking satin prints and fine linens which were used for riding breeches designed with meticulous care and distinctive elegance. A striking addition to the collection that fused the spirit of polo and the heritage of Rajasthan was the special selection of handmade and hand-blocked signatures. Polo scarves were woven from the finest Pima and mercerized yarns which are considered the perfect polo heritage style.

“For Lakme Fashion Week It's more than just fashion; celebrates heritage and sport seamlessly intertwined. The intricate details and vibrant cultural nods of the upcoming pieces embody a heartfelt tribute to the dynamic spirit of Jaipur,” said Singh.

“Polo is one of those sports that could be considered the last frontier of luxury. There are so many beautiful things connected, like the passion for the horse, the lifestyle that comes with it, beautiful landscapes and beautiful people who go to them. The more Sophisticated customers are now scratching the surface and saying, ‘I get the appeal, but what’s original?’ They dig a little deeper into the category and that’s where they discover us.” Adrián Simonetti, co-founder and president of La Martinasaying.
