The Competition Authority of Italy (AGCM) on Wednesday that he had opened an investigation into the jewelry and the surveillance manufacturer MORELLATO for allegedly imposing unfair restrictions on distributors in the way they sell their products.
The authority said that it suspected of Morellato, whose proprietary or licensed brands include the unlimited sector, Philip Watch, Esprit and Trussardi, of illegitimately prohibiting authorized retailers selling their products in online markets and third -party platforms.
“MORELLATO may be preventing its distributors from effectively using the Internet to sell products to clients or particular territories,” contrary to the regulations of the European Union, the AGCM said in a statement.
The Officers of the Authority and Financial Police of Italy carried out an inspection at the Morellate facilities on Tuesday in relation to the investigation, the statement added.
MORELLATO “has always acted in full compliance with the law and, in particular, with the Competition Law, as well as with the best commercial practices in the relevant sector, with the sole objective of improving the customer purchase experience,” said the company in a statement.
