Here's a look at what they wore on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

golden girls

Wearing gold at an awards show is basically an announcement that you're up for winning a golden statuette.

And Cate Blanchett, nominated for her gripping role as a journalist with secrets in Alfonso Cuarón's limited series “Disclaimer” for Apple TV+, understood the task.

The Australian actress wore a sparkling Louis Vuitton dress with a modest neckline, a beaded cape at the neck and a train. She's also environmentally friendly – she wore the same dress to the Cannes film festival in May last year.

Ariana Grande, nominated for best supporting actress in a comedy/musical film for her role as Glinda in “Wicked,” wore a strapless vintage golden-yellow Givenchy dress with a beaded bodice, a bow that covered the back and a signature high ponytail. .

“It's yellow because 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' and it's one of Glinda's favorite colors,” Grande told Variety on the red carpet, ending months of wearing candy pink dresses during the film's press tour. .

The pop princess wore opera gloves, an accessory also seen on actresses Ali Wong, Janelle James and Cristin Milioti.

Demi Moore, nominated for her portrayal of an aging actress looking for a way to stay forever young in the body horror film “The Substance,” stunned in a strapless gold ballgown with a sculptural asymmetrical neckline.

And Mikey Madison, nominated for her starring role in “Anora,” the story of a sex worker who marries the son of a Russian oligarch, was ready for her close-up in a strapless gold column dress.

Rock the red

The fire truck red is spectacular and nominee Isabella Rossellini, who plays a crafty nun in the papal drama “Conclave,” definitely turned heads in a floor-length red dress with a matching chiffon cape.

Dakota Fanning, nominated for best supporting actress in a television role for “Ripley,” stunned in a tight-fitting red pleated dress with a high leg slit and a faux strap wrapped around her neck and flowing over her shoulder.

And Ali Wong, winner of best comedy special, wore a fun strapless red Balenciaga dress cinched at the waist with a giant bow.

Bold colors for men

Basic black looks great on most men: Golden Globe-nominated “Hit Man” star Glen Powell, for example.

But several male stars at the gala took a more daring sartorial approach.

Andrew Garfield and Adam Brody opted for green tuxedos with black lapels, while Morris Chestnut opted for an all-red look.

Jeremy Strong, nominated for best supporting actor in a motion picture for “The Apprentice,” wore a mint green suit and matching bucket hat.

And Andrew Scott, nominated for best actor in a limited series for his portrayal of a suave assassin in “Ripley,” donned a light blue suit, shirt and tie.
