Hervé Léger Resort 2025: rethinking an icon

“This woman has grown up with us,” explains Michelle Ochs, creative director of Hervé Léger, “but we also introduce her to a new generation.” It's a delicate line all the way: taking a brand with such a unique heritage and evolving it and making it modern. One year later, Ochs is striking a chord in its mission to rethink the lexicon of bandage fabrics the brand made iconic. While this is his first resort offering for the brand, with a transitional feel, it's actually a continuation of the story he's been building since taking the reins by introducing new fabrics, jersey sets, new textures and hardware and updated forms. “I'm talking to the modern woman, dressing her,” she said point-blank in her direction.

Modernity came in bandage-detailed knits paired with patent leather pieces and updated foil pieces that mimicked the crocodile on the skirts, which could easily see heavy rotation well beyond the resort. A primarily black and white palette with pops of color, like a fire engine red patent leather skirt, felt right for a modern lifestyle. The bandage dress was here, but with fringe embellishments and crystal embellishments, or a cut-out dress with staple-like hardware peppered from head to toe. A new mesh overlay fabrication that was silky smooth was another way to inject a sense of now, or Ochs' first bag shape: a rectangular black clutch.

The designer said she feels momentum is growing with her client and that the resort was in tune with her momentum.
