Green Theme Technologies closes $6 million Series C funding round

Sustainable textile company Green Theme Technologies has closed a $6 million Series C funding round, led by investment firms Pangea Ventures and Cottonwood Technology Ventures.

The cash injection will help accelerate the development of the US manufacturer's Empel high-performance technology, which was created as a sustainable alternative to traditional textile treatments, eliminating harmful chemicals and reducing water use.

The investment will allow GTT to expand its development capabilities, scale its technology and meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions within the footwear, apparel and military markets. The new funding will also boost the continuation of the RCD.
efforts to refine GTT's product offering and strengthen the company's global impact, the New Mexico-based firm said in a news release.

Founded in 2018, GTT's Empel is a waterless, PFAS-free textile finishing platform that provides factories and brands with clean solutions that surpass all current water-repellent, stain-removing and anti-wicking technologies.
