Hollywood's biggest stars hit the red carpet Sunday for the Golden Globes, the first major event on the road to the Oscars, and they brought plenty of old-school glamour.

Here's a look at some of the looks seen at the Beverly Hilton Hotel:

Black always chic

Selena Gomez is newly married and her happiness is evident. The nominee for best comedy actress for her work in “Only Murders in the Building” radiated joy as she arrived arm in arm with her husband Benny Blanco.

She oozed sophistication in a black Chanel dress with a frothy white feather strapless neckline and her black bob formed into soft waves.

Gómez was not the only one who adopted a discreet pose, as many stars opted for black or dark, wintery tones.

Teyana Taylor, winner for her scorching role as a left-wing revolutionary in the hit film “One Battle After Another,” swept the carpet in a backless black Schiaparelli dress with a halter neckline and a daring crystal bow at the back.

Ariana Grande (“Wicked: For Good”), who competed with Taylor for best supporting actress, turned heads in a textured black Vivienne Westwood ballgown with an asymmetrical neckline and bubble silhouette before falling to the floor.

Her hair was pulled back into her signature ponytail and she kept the jewelry simple with a diamond choker.

Amy Madigan, also in her category for her villainous role in “Weapons,” opted for a tuxedo look with shorts and patent leather boots.

Nominee Jenna Ortega embraced the gothic elegance of her lead character in “Wednesday” in a black high-necked Dilara Findikoglu dress with sparkly epaulettes and shorts that revealed a bit of her side boob… and some of her hip bone.

Among the male stars in attendance, Colman Domingo stood out as always, wearing head-to-toe black Valentino, with silver appliqués spread from his left shoulder to his lapel to his waist.

Naked ambition

Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to making strong fashion statements. Her low-cut green Versace dress at the 2000 Grammys remains a reference for winning the red carpet by adopting the rule of “less is more.”

On Sunday, Lopez, whose role in “Kiss of the Spider Woman” was overlooked by Globes voters, wore a figure-hugging sheer dress with bronze patterns that snaked over her body and ended in a mermaid fishtail.

Jennifer Lawrence, nominated for best dramatic actress in a motion picture for “Die My Love,” also received the nod, wearing a sheer nude Givenchy dress with just a handful of strategically placed flowers.

Stars criticize deadly ICE shooting

Hollywood never goes out into the night without a little politics coming into play.

On Sunday, some of the stars, including nominee Mark Ruffalo, wore “BE GOOD” pins, a reference to Renee Good, the Minneapolis woman who was shot and killed by a federal immigration agent.

Comedian Wanda Sykes wore the same pin on her lapel, while actress Natasha Lyonne, nominated for her TV show “Poker Face,” pinned one to her handbag.
