French designer Nicolas Ghesquière celebrates 10 years with Louis Vuitton

Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of women's collections, celebrates a decade of creativity with the Louis Vuitton Women's Fall-Winter 2024 show. On March 5, 2014, Ghesquière presented his first collection for Louis Vuitton at the Louvre's Cour Carrée.

Illuminated by luminous celestial globes, the silhouettes portrayed Ghesquière's ten-year adventure with Louis Vuitton and at the same time explored new horizons. Fusing introspection and imagination, the collection is a layering of memories, reflections, emotions and references. On this creative journey, the creative director followed his own stylistic north star, the essential compass of the curious traveler. The creative vocabulary defined over the years is reinvented, charting the course towards a new dawn for Louis Vuitton.

Redefining time and space, the show ranged between black and white, silver and bronze, electrified with splashes of color. The Maison's savoir-faire shined again, from embroidery to leather goods. Reflective materials and soft leathers accompanied the movement of silhouettes, often with architectural shoulders. With their eyes covered and their hands gloved, the Louis Vuitton women entered tomorrow, the company said in a news release.

Nicolas Ghesquière commemorates his decade at Louis Vuitton with the Women's Fall-Winter 2024 show, mixing nostalgia and innovation. The collection juxtaposes black and white tones with vibrant pops of color, with architectural silhouettes embellished with reflective materials and Monogram trunk prints, marking a redefined aesthetic for the House.

An echo of the past resonated in a contemporary dress sculpted through a Monogram trunk print. Each bag reworked innovation in new and fun ways. The set was designed by artist Philippe Parreno in collaboration with production designer James Chinlund, and the soundscape was by sound designer Nicolas Becker.
