Fashion group Hermes vows to “vigorously defend” Birkin lawsuit

Fashion company Hermes has vowed to “vigorously defend” a lawsuit filed against it in California, alleging that it illegally allows only customers with “sufficient purchasing history” with the company to purchase its famous Birkin bags.

“We obviously strictly adhere to antitrust laws wherever we operate and will vigorously defend ourselves in this case,” Hermes Chief Executive Axel Dumas said at the company's annual shareholder meeting on Tuesday.
