The London-based South Korean designer Eudon Choi played with layers and proportions for fall 2024 as he filtered his signature smart casual tailoring through a deconstructed lens.
“I was drawn into the exposed walls of Pompeii. The different layers of the color and plaster over time. I was captured by the beauty of that simplicity and felt sentimental about the vulnerability of us humans,” Choi said backstage.
Playing into the beauty in ruins theme, Choi added exposed seams and inside-out details on wardrobe staples such as sleeveless tops, straight trousers and maxidresses, and switched patterns around to create trenches in a playful manner. He also went big on cozy dresses in wool, velvet, and Swiss dot in earthy hues.
The show was accompanied by a lovely piano solo by Kasparas Mikuzis from Lithuania, who teaches music to the son of one of Choi's clients. He played on a Steinway grand piano that was too big to be removed from the show venue in Marylebone.
