Celebrated Parisian jeweler Elie Top has revealed his plans to celebrate his tenth anniversary with a new collection titled 'Liaisons Dangereuses' which he will present at Christie's Paris.

Top will celebrate this anniversary on the elegant Avenue Matignon, within the elegant halls of Christie's Paris. Where before a few he will present Liaisons Dangereuses, a collection dedicated to the Age of Enlightenment. It will be accompanied by an exhibition called “Metamorphosis”, which will present the most notable jewels created during the last decade.

It is a three-day event that will run from January 27 to 29, during the upcoming Paris couture runway season, and will celebrate this highlight of Elie's career in a symbolic location.

Of Flemish origin, Top's passion for drawing began at a very young age, leading Elie to the world of jewelry. He arrived in Paris at the age of 17, studying at the Ecoles de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, before joining Yves Saint Laurent at just 19 years old.

Working with Monsieur Saint Laurent and his right-hand woman and accessory designer Loulou de la Falaise shaped Top's taste and helped him develop rigor and exacting standards.

She later joined Lanvin with Alber Elbaz, who entrusted her with the creation of her first pieces of jewelry at the age of 21. A collaboration that continued at Lanvin for more than ten years, developing “bijou couture” jewelry that earned Top a cult following.

Creating a unique aesthetic that combines art and contradictory design movements such as Art Deco or Baroque, but managing to foster a certain exotic harmony in its style. Playful yet polished, intricate yet strong, Elie Top's style and signature is one of the most important in jewelry of this century.

“Jewelry is a matter of transmission. It crosses generations, sometimes centuries and tells of its time, loved ones, glorious ancestors, happy moments… Sometimes a valuable object, but above all sentimental. From one era to another, it transforms under the influence of fashion and circumstances,” Elie insisted.

A key link was with Baccarat, where Top signed, for the first time under his own name, the Bouchons de Carafe collection. Leading Elie to launch her own jewelry brand and open the Elie Top house in 2015.
