EBAY presents the first report of the surveillance list trend, appoint Brie Welch as a resident stylist


EBAY has presented its first tendency report on the surveillance list that reveals that almost 40% of all clothing, shoes and accessories sold on the platform in 2024 were listed as pre-loved, with global buyers who were looking for “crops” more than 1,200 times per minute.

The results were promoted by real -time purchase behavior of the 134 million EBAY users and more than 2.3 billion listings.

To help give life to the report, EBAY has taken advantage of the New York stylist, Brie Welch, as his resident stylist. Known for his work with Katie Holmes and luxury houses such as Bulgari, Givenchy and Ferragamo, Welch will serve as the brand's fashion authority: identify trends, offer expert comments and highlight the assortment of EBAY of pre-love brand fashion.

“From our foundation 30 years ago, we have been connecting people who want to refresh their cabinets with the ready to transmit articles that they no longer need,” said Alexis Hoopes, a global fashion vice president on Ebay.

“We imagine a world where circularity is the norm, which facilitates brands and consumers interact with the circular economy. We want so much prelimined fashion of power and enhance the entire circular fashion ecosystem.”

Among the findings, the report stands out to Louis Vuitton as the high performance luxury brand on EBAY until now in 2025, surpassing all other designer labels at purchases from January to March.

Beyond the traditional luxury, eBay data also reveal a growing interest in ascending and lifestyle brands. Birkestock led the way with a 61%increase in searches, followed by Altuzarra (+48%), Tombolo (+40%) and Bulgari (+28%).

Among the most prominent trends in the report is the emergence of the “First Function”, a new version of utilitarian fashion. Searches for “barrel jeans” have increased by 130%, and iconic brands such as Wrangler and Timberland continue to dominate with an average of 37 and 20 searches per minute, respectively.

“Disposable at dusk” explores the soft and dreamy narration through pastel tones and recreational accessories. Yellow butter dresses increased 656%, while cheerful pieces such as Seiko Half Moon clock increased 430% in popularity.

“Very good” marks the return of the energy dressing. Fashion expert buyers are adopting silhouettes as searches with “Blazer Called” look for 209%, and “large suit” queries that jump 87%. The brands that lead this resurgence include Balenciaga and Miu Miu.

“Modern Bohemia” offers a romantic version of the style of free spirit, with ethereal silhouettes and founded accessories. Classic marginal bags have increased by 41%, and penny lane jackets have increased 44% in search interest.

Finally, “Blue Hues” confirms the lasting attraction of Denim in a variety of washing and silhouettes. This time, it is crafts and versatility. The searches for “Japan jeans” have increased by 68%, while “Selvedge denim” rose 46%.
