Dubai police said Monday that they caught three thieves only a few hours after stealing a beautiful pink diamond worth $ 25 million.
“The General Command of the Dubai Police has frustrated the theft of a very rare pink diamond, valued at $ 25 million,” police said in a statement shared by the official news agency of the Emirates of the WAM arbeels.
A diamond merchant who had brought the jewel in Europe was attracted to a villa by a crime gang under the pretext of a view by a potential rich client, police said. But the gem was stolen when the diamond dealership arrived for the false inspection, the statement added.
In eight hours, three people from an un specified Asian country were arrested “thanks to the efforts of specialized and field teams, and when using the latest artificial intelligence technologies,” police said.
The video images shared by the Dubai media office showed the three men with a blurred face after their arrest, as well as the cctv images of the gang. Dubai is an important center for the diamond trade. Controlled and guarded, the EAU are proud of their safety and stability.
