David Koma Fall 2024 Runway, Fashion Show and Ready-to-Wear Collection Review

David Koma is at the top of his game when he designs in black and white with pops of color, like icy blue, camel, and red.

This season sent models strutting down the runway adorned with feathers emulating the ferocious swans, the bird, and the New York socialites orbiting Truman Capote.

A mint feather boa attached to a sheer top paired with low-waisted black pants skimmed the floor; dresses and tops with trains that swept behind; Enlarged evening bags covered in feathers held between the model's arms.

His other muses were the late German choreographer Pina Bausch and the young contemporary choreographer Candela Capitán.

“Pina is someone who really reflects fragility and vulnerability, but at the same time she is very powerful, strong and dominant, while Candela expresses her art through movement and technology,” the designer said in a preview.

Koma used different fabrics to tell the story of new and old. Chiffons, satins and velvets represented elegance, while tulles and liquid jerseys captured the designer's enthusiasm for party wear.
