China's Lanvin Group appoints Peter Copping as new artistic director

Lanvin Group (NYSE: LANV, the “Group”), a global luxury fashion group, announced that Lanvin, the flagship brand of Lanvin Group and the oldest couture house still in operation in France, has appointed Peter Copping as artistic director. He will take on the role of creative leader of the women's and men's wear collections starting in September 2024.

Peter Copping, a British national and graduate of Central Saint Martins and London’s Royal College of Art, began his career at Sonia Rykiel and then spent more than a decade at Louis Vuitton with Marc Jacobs as womenswear director. He was subsequently named creative director of Nina Ricci in Paris and Oscar de la Renta in New York, where Mr. de la Renta, who had been a designer at Lanvin under Antonio Castillo, appointed Copping as his successor. Most recently, Copping served as Head of Haute Couture at Balenciaga, where he led the ateliers for the reintroduction of the haute couture collection.

The Lanvin Group has appointed Peter Copping as artistic director of its flagship brand, Lanvin. With experience at Sonia Rykiel, Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci, Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga, Copping will lead the women's and men's wear collections starting in September 2024. He aims to align with Lanvin's contemporary cultural transformation and the French sophistication.

Drawing on the breadth and depth of his extensive experience across categories and continents, Copping brings to Lanvin the unique perspective and technical expertise of a modern couturier. His mission aligns with the brand’s transformation initiated over the past two years, in which Lanvin rethinks contemporary culture with a sensibility of radical elegance and French sophistication.
