The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced updated dates for New York Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2026, which will now take place from Wednesday, February 11 to Monday, February 16, 2026.
The adjustment, shared in a message from Joseph Maglieri, fashion week's director of initiatives, follows a careful review of the global fashion calendar to better align the New York calendar with London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, while also accommodating major holidays and cultural events in the United States.
“This change allows us to stay close to the fashion weeks that follow us while still keeping NYFW a week later in February 2026 to give teams the time they need to prepare,” Maglieri explained.
“Given that NYFW September 2025 started a week later last season, if we kept the dates at the beginning of February, as is traditionally done for the fall-winter season, this would have resulted in over a week of lost time for brands and their teams to prepare, while creating an unnecessarily large time distance between New York and London, Milan and Paris.”
The updated schedule ensures a more coherent overall schedule and supports designers and production teams as they transition between seasons.
Applications to be placed on the official NYFW calendar will open in early November 2025, with the final calendar expected to be released in January 2026.
