Here's an interesting collaboration linked to Fashion Week. Calvin Klein and Nensi Dojaka have presented a collaboration combining underwear and ready-to-wear “that reflects the brands' shared inspiration: the power of feminine sensuality.”

We’re told that Nensi Dojaka for Calvin Klein “combines the London-based womenswear designer’s intricate visual language with the innovation and design codes that are the foundation of Calvin Klein. Based on women’s underwear, the pieces articulate the interplay between strength and softness, celebrating both in equal measure.”

It makes sense considering Nensi Dojaka's famously sultry style of wearing underwear as outerwear, and of course considering that Calvin Klein is one of the world's “power brands” in the underwear realm.

The pieces were shown on Nensi Dojaka’s SS25 runway (though they’re available to buy now), with a proposition that “draws attention to specific areas of the body: the collarbone, the hips, the back. Thin harness straps frame the bust and sheer layers highlight rather than conceal. Sculptural metal elements, developed from Calvin Klein’s archives, appear as a focal accent throughout the ensemble: at once rigid and organic, they directly celebrate duality.”

And both brands stated that “purpose and wearability are at the heart of the collection: multi-layered petal cups are designed to lift invisibly, while feather-light knit fabrics silently sculpt. Calvin Klein's highly developed technical engineering allows for support at all times.”

Meanwhile, languid slip dresses are shaped with sculptural hardware and “gently oversized” tailoring counteracts the delicacy of the other pieces.

And as with so many current collections, it all comes with a “modernized 90s spirit through meticulous attention to detail.”

Of course, there is a supporting campaign featuring actress Rebecca Ferguson and models Jill Kortleve and Mona Tougaard photographed by Harley Weir against a London backdrop, in images that aim to be “powerfully feminine and boldly sensual”.

Dojaka said the collection is an “exploration of femininity. But I never wanted to approach femininity in the ‘normal’ way. I want to repaint the image of women, showing both sides: the vulnerability, but also the strength that characterizes them. For me, femininity is about embracing the contrast that lives within us.”

She added that “Calvin Klein has always been on my mood board.”

For her part, Eva Serrano, global president of the Calvin Klein brand, says that the designer “is really doing something special in womenswear. Her vision and talent are on another level, and when I think of the creative partners who have influenced Calvin Klein, Nensi is part of that story.”

The collaboration is now available at select Calvin Klein stores and key retail partners, as well as through each brand’s webstore.
