Bulgari opened his greatest exhibition in Japan on Wednesday, at the National Art Center, in Tokyo.
Nicknamed “Bulgari Kaleidos: colors, cultures and crafts”, the exhibition is the first of the Maison in the country in a decade and brings together almost 350 creations that cover high jewels and contemporary art, organized as a kaleidoscopic trip between Italian and Japanese culture.
Visitors will find three thematic chapters: the science of color, the symbolism of the color and power of light, each who reveals the work of the Maison. In view there are pieces such as the legendary Emerald Seven Wonders necklace, Sautoirs of the 1960s, the first Bulgari Sotirio designs and recently commissioned works by contemporary artists Lara Favaretto, Mariko Mori and Akiko Nakayam.
The exhibition debuted with a day of high profile events that includes an international press conference, an exclusive vernissage and a gala dinner held in the museum's atrium. Extending the narrative beyond the museum walls, the activations also took place at the Bulgari Hotel Tokyo.
