Bluemarble Men's Fall 2024

Anthony Alvarez of Bluemarble dreamed of traveling to space. Inspired by Filipino director Kidlat Tahimik's 1979 cult film “Perfumed Nightmare,” he looked at what Bluemarble aficionados might wear to a space rave. But it wasn't all the party, as there were also references to the waste discarded by the astronauts, in their fabric treatments for example, and “Ban the Bomb” logos winking at the Peace Corps that were a very relevant message for today, Alvarez said. behind the scenes.

New this season were padded and embroidered bombers in coated nylon with a metallic finish in copper or silver, and jeans embroidered with rhinestones to form what looked like shooting stars. The shirts were long, worn folded over the shoulders as an extra layer, and the classic wool coats in bright tones were very large, with the shoulders exaggerated and pushed back. Work pants had pleats at the knee and the denim was adorned with panel details in bronze or silver for the more streetwise astronauts.

Their accessories packed a punch, with giant faux fur hats and eye-catching footwear like a cross between a hiking boot and a metallic-trimmed creeper, the top layers of which were removed to transform them into slippers. Her final looks, with synthetic fur robes hand-spray painted with light blue motifs and images of the Philippine dragon Bakunawa, were a true spectacle. Space Cadets ready to report for duty!
