With London Fashion Week celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the British Fashion Council is doing everything it can to make next month's event “ignite the imagination, honoring the breadth of creative talent in London” for consumers.

And that means engaging them to explore the capital's “renowned shopping destinations through an exciting program of 500 events and activations” featuring 180 brands.

It is a continuation of an even higher profile 'Citywide Celebration' theme of the event, which aims to showcase “London's creativity and innovation and highlights fashion at the intersection of culture, with activations”. This time around it will include exclusive panel discussions, pop-ups, DJ sets, discounts, designer Q&A sessions, personalized giveaways, collection launches and creative workshops.

So which brands are involved? Bulgari (February 16-20) will debut its latest B.zero1 jewelry collection at its Sloane Street store and includes champagne and bespoke jewelry styles. And LFW title sponsor 1664 Blanc will be presenting '1664 Blanc x Selfridges' at the London store hosting 'Explorations in Blue' from February 13-27. This includes a fashion program in the store's cinema with talks from industry experts and fashion pioneers, including BFC NEWGEN designers.

Additionally, Hervia Bazaar (February 16-18) presents Hervia x Creative Incubator, “a dynamic initiative that fosters emerging designers in retail”; while Karl Lagerfeld (Regent Street, February 17) will present the new season's collections alongside DJ entertainment, complimentary drinks and bespoke illustrations.

London College of Fashion (Carpenters Road, Stratford, February 17) holds its annual postgraduate show in February.

Malone Souliers (Mount Street flagship, February 16-20) features shoe engravings with shopper's initials on new or existing branded footwear along with Champange and refreshments with purchase; while Matches Fashion (Carlos Place, February 16-19) and its fashion brand Raey present an Edit for a four-day pop-up in the penthouse.

There are other special offers from Penhaligon's, Russell & Bromley, San Carlo and The Fashion School, including products, gifts and workshops.

Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, said there will be “a schedule of over 500 consumer events and activations taking place throughout the week”.
