The British Fashion Council (BFC) has named the recipients of the BFC Fashion Trust grants for 2024. They are Completedworks, Conner Ives, ELV Denim, Helen Kirkum, Labrum London and Tove.
The charity initiative from the UK's leading body for fashion designers aims to accelerate business growth with financial grants and mentoring through the BFC Foundation. The grant money is awarded to recipients “who have identified a specific area within their business that they would like to grow and deliver within a given period.”
Caroline Rush, CEO of BFC, said: “We are delighted to support recipients as they develop specific areas of their business, enabling them to develop their strategy and become successful global brands. This group of designers embodies creativity, innovation and agility and it has been inspiring to watch them tackle key industry issues and thrive in a turbulent landscape. We look forward to seeing its continued impact.”
The grant has a long history of supporting business mergers. The Fashion Trust grant recipients for 2023 were Chopova Lowena, Fruity Booty, Molly Goddard, Neous, Piferi and Richard Malone.
Since its creation in 2011, the Trust has awarded more than £3 million to 58 designer brands. They also include designers who have become headliners, such as Christopher Kane, David Koma, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Rejina Pyo, Roksanda, Sophia Webster and Wales Bonner.
