Established in 2008, BFC/VDFF celebrates exceptional talent and creativity and powers business growth through high-level, personalized career and mentoring services. BFC/VDFF is part of the BFC Foundation, which brings all of the BFC's charitable initiatives under one umbrella to support the future growth and success of the British fashion industry. The BFC/VDFF awards designer businesses with a cash prize of £150,000 to support their contribution to the British and global fashion ecosystem. The fund is generously supported by British Vogue, Burberry and Paul Smith, BFC said in a press release.
This year's judging panel is chaired by Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council and Chioma Nnadi, Head of Editorial Content at British Vogue. The panel is made up of experts from across the fashion industry: Alexa Chung, designer, model and author; Harry Lambert, stylist; Ib Kamara, editor-in-chief of Dazed and art and image director of Off-White; Laura Ingham, deputy director of Global Fashion Network, British Vogue; Rod Manley, marketing director at Burberry; Sally Britton, Partner (Intellectual Property, Co-Head of Retail), Mishcon de Reya; Sarah Mower MBE, Vogue.com Chief Critic and BFC Ambassador and Susie Lau, Fashion Editor.
The BFC has revealed the shortlisted designers for the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund 2024, including Ahluwalia, Chopova Lowena, Clio Peppiatt, KNWLS, NENSI DOJAKA and Stefan Cooke. The fund supports UK fashion talent with mentoring and a cash prize of £150,000. The judging panel includes industry experts such as Alexa Chung and Harry Lambert.
