The Global Fashion Asos digital retailer has signed an agreement with the Union of the International Federation of Transport Workers (ITF) “to protect the rights of transport workers and improve the security, resistance and sustainability of their supply chains.”
The “legally” linking “agreement is based on long -standing leadership in the integration of human rights in their commercial and supply chains, extending this commitment to transport and logistics,” he said at the launch.
According to the Diligence Agreement for Human Rights (HRDD), Asos and the ITF will cooperate in the realization of HRDD in the operations and logistics of Asos Transportation, “guarantee respect for human rights and sustainability through the supply chains of Asos.”
ITF will support the business in the design of policies, the identification, avoidance and mitigation of the risk, and the determination of the resources if the rights are violated, they said.
The couple will also get involved with the retail partners to share resources and educational tools in HRDD related to transport and logistics.
The Executive President of Asos, José Antonio Ramos Calamonte, said: “Improve the human rights of all involved in our value chain, from design and preparation, to storage, shipping and delivery, has been a central mission for [ours] for about a decade.
“Our new agreement with ITF will allow us to bring our work even further and expand our action to protect and improve the human rights of workers in our transport and logistics supply chain, reduce the risk and improve the resilience of the supply chain while offering positive changes for people who support our business.”
