American Tom Ford announces Haider Ackermann as new creative director

TOM FORD announces the appointment of Haider Ackermann as Creative Director, effective immediately.

In her new role, Ackermann will assume creative leadership across all TOM FORD fashion categories, including menswear, womenswear, accessories and eyewear, and will guide the creative vision for the overall brand. TOM FORD is owned by The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE:EL) and the fashion business is licensed to Ermenegildo Zegna Group (NYSE:ZGN) and the eyewear business is licensed to Marcolin SpA.

Tom Ford has named Haider Ackermann as its new creative director, effective immediately. Ackermann will oversee all fashion categories, including menswear, womenswear and accessories, and shape the brand’s creative vision. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, French national Ackermann grew up in Ethiopia, Chad, Algeria, the Netherlands and Belgium, where he studied fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Known for combining luxurious fabrics with impeccable tailoring, Ackermann has been hailed for his avant-garde yet wearable designs, favored by celebrities.
