American brand Ralph Lauren reports progress in sustainability by 2025

Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE:RL) released its 2025 Global Citizenship and Sustainability Report, highlighting the company's significant progress on the commitments set forth within its Timeless by Design strategy. Grounded in Ralph Lauren's purpose, to inspire the dream of a better life through authenticity and timeless style, and a key enabler for its Next Great Chapter: Drive strategy announced in September, Timeless by Design captures Ralph Lauren's work to support the partners, communities and natural resources it depends on.

Fiscal year 2025 (FY25) highlights include:

Ralph Lauren Corporation's 2025 Global Citizenship and Sustainability Report highlights significant progress in its Timeless by Design strategy. In FY25, 98 percent of products met sustainable materials standards, emissions fell 34 percent from FY20, and initiatives expanded to include denim vintage, repair and recycling services, a fifth Cradle to Cradle certified product, and the third U.S. cancer center.

  • Meet at least one of the Company's sustainable materials criteria in 98% of the units produced;
  • Introducing Ralph Lauren's fifth Cradle to Cradle certified product;
  • Launch a denim recycling program in North America, pilot a repair service and expand Ralph Lauren Vintage offerings;
  • Achieve a 34% reduction in absolute emissions from the Company's fiscal 2020 baseline;
  • Introducing the second Artist in Residence collaboration, with Diné (Navajo) artist, Zefren-M; and
  • Opening the third cancer center in the United States, the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles.

“Guided by Ralph's vision of timelessness, our citizenship and sustainability work is fundamentally aimed at supporting the longevity of our business and the resilience of the people and resources that enable it,” he said Katie Ioanilli, Director of Communications and Global Impact, Ralph Lauren Corporation. “Over the past three years, we have sharpened our focus, deepened our partnerships and evolved the way we work to further integrate our approach and progress into our business and culture.”

The Company also shared that it will evolve its approach to climate as part of its ongoing commitment to decarbonization. Ralph Lauren will withdraw its 2040 net zero emissions goal in favor of setting five-year GHG reduction milestones, with a near-term focus on its current SBTi-validated 2030 goal of reducing emissions by 30% from its fiscal year 2020 baseline.

This approach aims to deliver impactful results and drive accountability as Ralph Lauren works alongside industry, government and other partners to advance the infrastructure and innovation that will support decarbonization at scale. The Company will continue to follow a science-based methodology aligned with the Paris Agreement. It will also continue to support programs such as the Future Supplier Initiative, a crowdfunding mechanism facilitated by The Fashion Pact in partnership with Apparel Impact Institute (Aii), Guidehouse and DBS Bank, to reduce the cost of capital to fund suppliers' decarbonization efforts.

“Ralph Lauren is setting progressive goals that keep the company focused on science-based decarbonization methods while taking into account the maturity of the ecosystem and the broader regulatory environment,” he said. Lewis Perkins, President and CEO, Apparel Impact Institute. “Their investments in Aii are exactly the kind of measurable on-the-ground efforts that drive meaningful decarbonization results.”

The full FY25 Global Citizenship and Sustainability Report and Supplement is available on the company's website and features an enhanced reporting framework partially aligned with future regulations.

Ralph Lauren will share updates on its goals for calendar year 2025 in early 2026. The company will also detail the next chapter of its Timeless by Design strategy in early 2026, which will build on its work to implement key commitments across its business.
