Alexander McQueen's Seán McGirr to debut collection in Paris in March


Alexander McQueen revealed on Monday that his Fall/Winter 2024 showcase will hit the Paris catwalk on Saturday, March 2 at 8 pm CET.

The event will mark Seán McGirr's debut collection as creative director of the fashion house, featuring both women's and men's wear.

McGirr was appointed creative director in October, replacing Sarah Burton, who staged her final show for the house in September.

McGirr is an Irish citizen born in Dublin in 1988. A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, McGirr earned his Masters in Fashion in 2014 under the late Professor Louise Wilson, a name synonymous with nurturing some of the industry's brightest talents. .

Before taking on the role of creative director at Alexander McQueen, McGirr served as ready-to-wear director at JW Anderson. His fashion journey also includes stints at Dries Van Noten, Uniqlo, Burberry and Vogue Hommes Japan.

As successor to Alexander McQueen's iconic legacy, expectations are high for McGirr's ability to infuse innovation while paying homage to the brand's rich heritage.
