Ahluwalia Fall 2024 Runway Review, Fashion Show and Ready-to-Wear Collection

Priya Ahluwalia is a designer rooted in reality; Most seasons she defends the unrecognized hidden figures. But by the fall of 2024, she opened the doors of her brain and embraced fantasy by referencing fairy tales from Nigerian folklore.

“My latest collection was developed inside the British Library, where I spent a lot of time thinking about books and stories, so I built my own visual dream world around that as my moodboard,” the designer said backstage.

The collection departed from Ahluwalia's often vibrant and wearable pieces; This time he experimented with new things like the color black; diamond prints that blend subtly with denim pants; an extravagant skirt with its own crest on the back; denim layered over denim, creating a mix of blues.

“I'm very proud because when I walk down the street in Soho [where her new office space is based], I see people using Ahluwalia. That's why I started doing the brand, but I also like theater and drama,” said the designer, who balances everyday clothes with fun performance pieces only suitable for special occasions or red carpets.

Backstage, Ahluwalia revealed that she was very happy while watching her show from a television screen in the dressing room.
