Hollywood celebrities sparkled in the Los Angeles sun on Saturday as they hit the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, their powerful union's party of the year.
A number of trends have emerged in the run-up to the Oscars, and they were on display once again: classic black and white, jewel tones, metallics and, of course, Barbiecore.
Here's a look at some of the best looks from the SAG Awards:
In black and white
In fashion, black and white is timelessly chic.
Ali Wong, who won an award for her work on the Netflix limited series “Beef,” offered one of the most fashionable looks of the night in a sculptural laser-cut Iris van Herpen couture dress with cascading strands of white diamond cuts. .
America Ferrera, a member of the nominated cast of the summer hit “Barbie,” also embraced the classic color scheme in a black Dior dress with a sheer white off-the-shoulder drape and a diamond choker.
“It feels like a princess moment, a fairy tale moment,” Ferrera told E! grid.
And nominee Selena Gomez, who stars in Hulu's “Only Murders in the Building,” sizzled in a bright white Versace dress that hugged her curves.
Colors fit for royalty
Time and time again, stars wear rich jewel tones to black-tie events and never disappoint.
SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher, who helped win concessions from major studios like Disney and Netflix during the months-long actors' strike, enjoyed her moment in a bright red, long-sleeved dress with a sheer lace panel at the front part.
Lily Gladstone, who won best leading actress in a motion picture for “Killers of the Flower Moon,” also wore a red strapless dress with fringes.
“Barbie” cast member Ariana Greenblatt stunned in a burgundy velvet strapless princess ball gown by Vera Wang.
And nominated “American Fiction” star Jeffrey Wright scored men's fashion points with a tuxedo in the same shade.
Metallic
Gold and silver are never a bad choice for an awards show.
Jennifer Aniston, who was nominated as part of the cast of “The Morning Show” and presented a lifetime achievement award to Barbra Streisand, dressed for the moment in a stunning silver dress with spaghetti straps and a high slit.
Carey Mulligan, nominated for playing Leonard Bernstein's wife Felicia in “Maestro,” said on the red carpet that a wardrobe malfunction forced her to make a last-minute change: into a strapless liquid gold Armani dress. .
Barbiecore forever
Margot Robbie, nominated for her portrayal of the iconic doll, is definitely still in her “Barbie” era of fashion.
She wore a black Schiaparelli minidress with a dramatic pink fabric drape from the shoulder to the floor and wrapped around her waist.
Brie Larson, nominated for the limited series “Lessons in Chemistry,” shined in a pale pink Versace two-piece ensemble: a tight, long-sleeved crop top paired with a flowy ball skirt and her long blonde curls left loose.
She told E! network that the outfit was inspired by a photo of supermodel Claudia Schiffer.
And Colman Domingo, who has been rocking the red carpet all awards season, did not disappoint in a pink tuxedo with black lapels and crisscross details.
Domingo, star of Netflix's “Rustin” about the activist who helped organize the 1963 March on Washington, was one of the performers chosen to deliver a signature “I'm an Actor” speech to open the gala.
