Having dabbled in more experimental patterns in recent years, with varying degrees of success, the traditional red and black stripes are presented in pure, virgin form.
The shirt is finished with simple white collars and cuffs and a plain white panel tucked under the arms.
There is also a gold anniversary logo applied to the back of the neck and a matching decal inside the collar that recalls Milan's original creation as a “social club institution” back in 1899.
An additional embellishment on the jersey is a subtle linear pattern printed within those stripes that, according to manufacturer Puma, mimics the genome sequence found within strands of human DNA and therefore represents how deeply people care. Milan fans for the club, and vice versa.
The shirt is modeled by Milan stars including Christian Pulisic, who has found a home in Milan since arriving from Chelsea last summer. The US men's national team striker has enjoyed an impressive return to form in his first season at the San Siro with 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions.
Pulisic's 12 league goals set a new personal best in a season, the first time he has reached double figures in a league campaign. The 25-year-old also surpassed USMNT teammate Weston McKennie to become the highest-scoring American player in Serie A in a single season.
All things considered, Pulisic should be in good shape when the USMNT's Copa América campaign begins at home next month.
Pulisic and his Milan teammates will debut the new kit at San Siro on Saturday when they host Salernitana in their final match of the Serie A season.
Very good!
