Almost four years have passed since Conor McGregor arrived at the UFC octagon.

McGregor fought against Dustin Poirier on July 10, 2021, approximately six months after having defeated him, but his leg was broken, which caused a strike in the fight.

The Irishman was scheduled to return against Michael Chandler in UFC 303, but the fight was surprisingly canceled because McGregor broke his foot.

That cancellation was more than a year ago, and McGregor has not yet entered the ring.

But UFC Georges St. Pierre's legend expects McGregor to return once and for all.

“I hope yes. When Conor fights, it's good for sport, well for everyone,” St. Pierre told Fox News Digital at Fanatics Fest in New York last weekend. “He brought more ocular balloons than anyone in sport. In terms of promotion, it is the largest name in mixed martial arts of all time. And I just hope he returns, if he wants it. If he makes it happy, and it is really what he wants to do, he should do it.”

In April, McGregor turned to social networks to affirm that he would only return if the fight was in a stadium.

Dana White has previously expressed her opposition to organizing fights in the stadiums. In September, before UFC 306, White made it clear that organizing a fight in a stadium would come at the expense of fans experience due to production challenges.

“When I play live event on Saturdays, I want the best internal experience that people can have, and I want the same television experience,” he told the media during a press conference. “I just don't understand why I would need to make a stadium when, for what? Can I get more people there? I just don't interest me.

“What interests me is to organize the best live event. People always talk about how fast this sport grew: the live event is part of the reason why sport grew like this.”
