Caio Borralho continued his rise up the UFC middleweight rankings with an impressive unanimous decision victory over Jared Cannonier in Saturday's main event at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
Borralho put Cannonier in trouble several times during the fight, including a knockdown and a submission attempt in the fifth round, but Cannonier showed his toughness going into the final bell. With the win, Borralho extends his winning streak to 14 straight and will likely add his name to the list of middleweight contenders.
At the middleweight finale of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Ryan Loder earned a spot on the UFC roster via TKO victory over Robert Valentin, while Mairon Santos defeated Kaan Ofli via second-round knockout for the TUF featherweight title.

Caio Borralho lands countless late strikes to defeat Jared Cannonier in the main event.
Brett Okamoto: It's not easy to get into the top five in the UFC rankings, but Caio Borralho has done it in a relatively short period of time and without a single flaw.
Borralho, a 31-year-old contender from Sao Paulo, Brazil, recorded the biggest win of his career on Saturday, a unanimous decision over former title challenger Jared Cannonier. The victory improved his UFC record to 7-0 and immediately inserts his name into the middleweight title race. Cannonier was ranked No. 5 in the division heading into the UFC Fight Night main event at the Apex in Las Vegas.
The three judges scored Borralho 49-45, 49-45 and 48-46. It was a convincing win for the Brazilian, but it certainly wasn't easy. Cannonier, who turned 40 earlier this year, hurt Borralho several times. In the fourth round, he threw a right hand at Borralho's guard, which opened a cut under his right eye.
