MAIN NEWS: Atleti set their sights on Manchester City's Nunes
Atletico Madrid are considering an agreement with the Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunesaccording to Athletic.
The LaLiga side are reported to be considering a possible loan move for the 28-year-old, in what would be their second transfer from the Etihad Stadium after landing striker Julián Álvarez earlier in the window.
The Citizens are expected to make a decision as they have not yet indicated whether they are open to letting him leave as Nunes is yet to establish himself as a mainstay in manager Pep Guardiola's side.
Since joining City on a five-year contract from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2023, he has started just seven Premier League games, while his only appearance this season came when he came on as a stoppage-time substitute in a 4-1 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Atleti, who also signed Conor Gallagher from Chelsea last week, have been keen to strengthen their midfield in the current window, and manager Diego Simeone appears to view Nunes as one of the final pieces to add to his first team this summer.
